Emma Ladji is an artist, actress, and writer. She creates theater performances that merge classic and original text with experimental music and choreography.

Classically trained in theater in Chicago, she gained accolades performing extensively with Chicago Shakespeare Theater as well as Goodman Theater and Writers Theater among others. Her independent music and performance projects have been supported by Links Hall, Villa Lena Foundation and Ragdale Foundation. She composed the musical score for Blue in the Right Way’s Spring 2024 Chicago production of Women Beware Women by Thomas Middleton. She was a Target Margin Institute Fellow in 2026. Her play Tongues in the Garden will premiere at The Exponential Festival in Brooklyn in 2027.
